The Sero-diagnostic Department is the department in which automated blood testing has been introduced. Rapid and quality blood testing results in a steady increase in the number of blood test applications. There are about 69,084 tests per year. The number of tests performed depends on the number of blood donors and other people who come to the test.
Functionality:
The Department's functionality is primarily to test blood serum markers with blood-transmitted diseases in voluntary blood donors. Blood transmitted diseases are diseases transmitted by blood and blood products and cause permanent consequences to recipient health, including viral hepatitis B, C and AIDS. The tests we use to test serum markers are enzymatic tests.
The blood of volunteer blood donors is searched for markers of hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV and syphilis.
Molecular testing (NAT) is in addition to enzyme immunocompetent testing.
The department is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment in molecular diagnostics with a high degree of automation in viral diagnostics (Hamilton, Cobas Ampliprep and real-time PCR TaqMan devices).
Molecular diagnostics of the virus are performed by testing voluntary blood donors (DDKs), using high-quality commercial tests
